Beyond the Boundary Anime Film in Spring 2015 Announced

On November 29, Kyoto Animation announced in its official website along with the seventh Blu-ray Disc volume of Beyond the Boundary (Kyōkai no Kanata) will be having an anime film to be released in spring of 2015 in two parts.
Kyōkai no Kanata follows a second-year high school student named Akihito Kanbara (KENN), who may look human, but is half Yōmu or dreamshade and deemed to be immortal with his rapid healing ability. One faithful day, Akihito meets Mirai Kuriyama, a first-year student (Risa Taneda) whom he first taught was about to commit suicide on the school’s rooftop. Akihito soon finds out that Mirai’s a unique kind of a Spirit World Warrior, special kind of people who makes a living out of hunting Yōmu. Mirai grew up being isolated from people because of her clan’s unique ability to manipulate their blood, even unique among Spirit World Warriors. A series of unfortunate events followed after Akihito saves Mirai.
The anime premiered in Japanese television in October with Crunchyroll streaming the anime into several countries while the anime aired. Sentai Filmworks later on announced in the same month that the anime is licensed to aire in North America.
In 2011 Kyōkai no, Kanata’s light novel by Nagomu Torii received an honourable mention for the novel category in the Kyoto Animation Award.
