Top 5 Fall 2014 Anime

Friday, November 21, 2014

Some of the anime airing this fall are half-way through their season already. There are lots of good anime to watch this season, here are some of my best picks for this fall.

1. Parasyte: the Maxim (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu)

I wasn't expecting that the manga would have an animated version since the last time I read the manga was around four or five years ago. It was the very first manga I've read and it's nice to watch it in its animated version. Plus, Parasyte's going to have a live-action adaptation too. Isn't it great?

Basically, it's the darker version of The Host, although, these extraterrestrial being aren't souls but translucent brain-eating outer space snakes. The story revolves on a teenage boy, Shinichi, who nearly got his brain eaten but ended up losing his right arm to one of these beings. They ended up learning to co-exist in his body and somehow, befriend each other. He names his right arm alien, Migi. Shinichi and Migi then fight for both of their lives since other beings who've successfully taken over a human brain wants to kill Migi because of its failure. The current episode now deals with Migi fully syncing with Shinichi's body where they both underwent certain physiological change.

2. Trinity Seven

A harem-type of anime but with a nice story about mages and the seven deadly sins. It revolves around a boy who ended up being a demon lord candidate after having his magic unlocked and caused a breakdown phenomenon that features a black sun that caused his beloved cousin to disappear into nothingness. He now seeks to become stronger in order to save his cousin by learning the ways of magic and about the magus mode that mages have.

3. Terra Formars
An anime that will keep you from killing another vermin you'll see, Terra Formars features well-built mutated cockroaches of Mars. As usual, mankind caused its own dismay by sending these roaches to Mars, knowing that they can adapt to nearly everything, to try and make Mars habitable to human beings. These terraformars soon developed a virus that has 100% death rate. To counter these Mars vermins, they infused insect DNA to certain people who wants to undergo the surgery in exchange to a sum of money.

4. Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka De

Another harem-type anime this season, Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka De is about a group of teens in a Literature Club who ended up awakening to their certain special abilities after the event. They learned to live and have fun with their powers not knowing that other teens have awakened to their powers as well who seeks to use it for evil.

5. World Trigger

One faithful day, a portal suddenly opened in Japan connecting it to another dimension that lives on wars and destruction. These war-beings soon came out of these portals and threatened the lives of mankind. People in the district soon acquired a Neighbor technology, the Triggers, which they used to defeat and protect mankind from these Neighbor warriors.

Also, Akame ga Kill! is still on-going and is still on a character killing spree, don't miss out on who's going to go next!
